It is not only a response to a bridge, but also a blessing about connection, gathering, and the future.

Chain of Light: A Track of Connection and Hope. In 2026, the Tamkang Bridge will be completed. Cloud Gate Dance Theatre responds to this building that spans the river estuary with "Chain of Light". Starting from the image of "connection", it depicts the flow and convergence of light.
The bridge connects Tamsui and Bali, and also allows Datun Mountain and Guanyin Mountain to face each other. The artwork unfolds from this point, transforming the connection between the landscape and people into the generation and flow of light in space. Points of light fall from the sky, converging into circles, like the beginning and call of a signal; dancers, like tiny photons, move, meet, and converge in space, gradually accumulating energy. The beams of light sometimes extend, sometimes converge, ultimately coalescing into a continuously moving trajectory, forming the core image—the "light chain." Light is a crucial element of the artwork.
Laser designer Chang Fang-yu used interwoven beams of light to create a chain-like visual image; lighting designer Shen Po-hung used layers of light and shadow to outline the fluid relationship between the bridge and the dancers; music designer Lin Chiang incorporated the real sounds of construction into the work, making the rhythm of labor a part of the piece and paying tribute to all those involved in the construction; costume designer Chen Shao-yen used gold and silver, commonly seen in Taiwanese folk celebrations, to create a visual language to celebrate the opening of the bridge.
