The Tamsui-Kuang Bridge: A Blend of Strength and Beauty
The world's largest span single-tower asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge
The Tamsui-Tamsui Bridge has a main span of 920m across the river, with towers reaching 211m in height. The main span is 450m, the back span is 175m, and the widest point of the bridge deck is approximately 70m. It is the world's longest single-tower asymmetrical span cable-stayed bridge. Considering the sunset location and the depth of the Tamsui River bedrock, the bridge towers are located in the middle of the river channel, slightly towards the freshwater side, and a 200m wide and at least 20m high clearance space for ship traffic is reserved in the deep channel area.
Taiwan's first scenic bridge that combines highway and railway.
In response to the construction and opening of the Tamsui Light Rail transit system, the Tamsui Bridge plan also reserves the bridge deck space required for the future development of the "Bali Extension Line" of the Tamsui Light Rail system (which was planned as a bus lane before the construction of the Bali Light Rail).
